| Work has commenced on the removal of ‘slider seals’ from the swell & great slider windchests in the historic 1888 Alfred Fuller organ. The seals were unfortunately installed in the early 1990’s and the parish has taken the step to return the sliders to their original method of operation. New bearers are to be manufactured to suit the original timber sliders. This work is being carried out while the church is under refurbishment. |

The Swell bellows from the 1909 Norman & Beard organ (installed by our company in 2004) has been completely releathered and restored. The original leather, now 98 years old, had lasted extremely well but finally perished and required replacement. Our first Chinese trainee organ builder, Jia Jie Liu assisted Ian Wakeley in this work, learning the various skills of bellows releathering.
